This is a small, personal project for reading French picture books aloud. Here is the plain truth about what it does with what you give it — no boilerplate, no surprises.

What we keep

Three things, and only what the product needs:

• Your account — the email address you sign up with, your name if you add one, and an encrypted password. That’s it.
• Your books — the titles you create and the photos you take of each page.
• The audio — the spoken-French recordings generated from those pages, saved so they’re ready to play again.

Where it lives

Page photos and audio files are stored on DigitalOcean Spaces, on servers in London. Your account details and book titles live in the app’s own database. Nothing is stored on your device beyond what your browser needs to play audio.

Who else sees it

Two services help do the work that makes the product possible:

• Anthropic (Claude) reads the French text out of each page photo. To do that, the photo is sent to them.
• ElevenLabs turns that text into the spoken audio. To do that, the text is sent to them.

They process this on our behalf so the feature can exist. We don’t send them your name, your email, or anything about your account — only the page image, and the text read from it.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell your data, to anyone, ever.
• We don’t use your photos, text, or audio to train our own models.
• We don’t track your child. There’s no profile of them, because we never ask for one.
• We don’t run advertising trackers on these pages.

Email

We email you only about your account — confirming sign-up, resetting a password, and the like. No newsletters you didn’t ask for.

Deleting your data

You’re in control. Delete a book and its pages, photos, and audio are removed with it. Close your account and the same is true of everything tied to it. Deletion is real deletion — not a flag that hides the data while we keep it.
